Why Fall's Favorite Fruit is Also Good For The Skin

While apples are a lunchbox and grab and go staple (and they look great in a bowl on the counter in the salon too), fall’s queen of all fruits is also good for your skin. Read on and find out how apples offer some pretty beneficial solutions for a glowing face during the fall.

Apples are full of nutrients that nourish and support healthy skin. Their high content of vitamin C builds collagen, plus copper helps the skin produce melanin which improves skin color.

The juice from apples when applied to the face can balance the oil production in the body, and is great for helping hydrate the skin. It can also be used as an exfoliant. If your clients’ skin is particularly dry during the fall, consider recommending they add a hydrating serum as well.

Studies show eating an apple on a regular basis can help with eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. Happen to have a few extra apples in the kitchen? Recommend rubbing grated apple peel on the skin as a gentle exfoliant. Leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse with cool water.

Apples have the ability to brighten and lighten the skin due to the high content of collagen and elastin. Soothing powers also help relieve redness and flakiness that can often develop in the cooler months.

Three Rosemary Benefits You Need to Know About

Rejuvenates Like No Other Rosemary is an anti-aging warrior, combating premature aging as it goes. Packed with cell regeneration properties that can help replace damaged skin, it also promotes healthy healing. I get asked frequently about how to increase skin elasticity, reduce puffiness or eliminate dryness. Tu’el Moisture Plus Essential Oil is the answer to all your skin care concerns.

Rosemary is a Natural Astringent I’m not done yet...rosemary also has antimicrobial qualities that make it important when clarifying the skin. It naturally constricts pores while purifying the skin by getting rid of dirt and oil. If you are suffering from acne and oily skin, I recommend Tu’el Let’s Be Clear Here Power Wash Gel which combines the benefits of rosemary with tea tree oil and eucalyptus to heal and clear the skin.

Anti-Inflammatory and Antiseptic Properties What about the other skin conditions I get asked about such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and other inflammatory skin conditions? Rosemary can help those too! Its powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help soothe and keep skin free of other irritants that aggravate these conditions.

Ginkgo Biloba : The new anti-againg super hero

Popular for years, Ginkgo Biloba has many benefits for the body and mind...some even call it “nature’s fountain of youth.” We decided to take a look at this anti-aging superhero and how it benefits the skin. Read on to find out how this natural herb can make all the difference in how you look and feel.

When the skin is flat, dull and in need of a boost, we’re looking for an aging corrector, right? Ginkgo Biloba can actually speed up the process of cell turnover, getting rid of those dead skin cells that create dark under eye circles and a dull appearance.  This is a big reason that Ginkgo Biloba is a key ingredient in the Eye Corrector Antioxidant Firm & Lighten Gel, as it hydrates under the eye area and stimulates healthy skin regeneration.

Second among Ginkgo Biloba’s superpowers is its ability to boost circulation. It’s so effective it’s actually used in medicinal purposes for things such as increasing blood flow to the legs, brain and fingers or toes. Used topically, this botanical increases blood flow as well as stimulates the all-magical collagen that pumps and rids the skin of wrinkles. The natural flow of collagen slows down in skin as we age, which makes your skin more prone to wrinkles and fine lines.

Studies show that it is also an effective re-pigmentor for Vitiligo. Same goes for the under eyes, where lack of pigment can leave dark or bluish-colored circles.  (This botanical was made for eye correctors!) Ginkgo Biloba extract can add color back to those areas to reduce the appearance of under eye circles.

Anti-Aging Tips

Yes, anti-aging products for the skin are obviously important and can actually make a difference in your skin believe it or not! But there are some other factors that contribute to skin looking its best...tips that not only help fight those fine lines, but will improve your quality of life. Read on for a few anti-aging tips you will love.

We know this is number one on your list...and it’s never too early to start right? Moisturizing keeps the skin hydrated, smooth and glowing, which will definitely help with younger looking skin. Talk to your esthetician about age-fighting serums with Vitamin C to help soften the appearance of lines, while creating firmer, smoother skin. And don’t forget the eye creams as added protection against aging. From depuffing, to firming, eye creams are the secret anti-aging weapon.

This seems so obvious, but this one can be tough to stick to on a regular basis. But you know how much we believe in the power of botanicals for your skin, so definitely make sure you are talking to them about nutrition the same way. Healthy, simple, all natural foods prepared fresh will make all the difference in their energy, health and skin.

Welcome fall… cozy fires, PSL’s, sweaters and boots! But while we’re excited, your skin may be struggling with the transition. Combine cold weather with indoor dry heat, and next thing you know your skin is freaking out! As we head into the beginning of cold weather skin disasters… dry, itchy skin, redness, eczema… here are a few fall/winter tips that will take your sin from summer to fall.

The skin’s antioxidants can be completely depleted by summer’s end, so think about fall as a time for skin and body renewal after the heat of the summer. This means hydration has different benefits during fall and winter. Consider getting a humidifier...it will increase the hydration in the air in their home.

Fall is a great time to update your skincare routine. Consider discussing the Korean method of double cleansing. This approach is ideal before bed so they are washing away all the toxins. Double Cleansing products focus on first lifting dirt and grime, then washing toxins away, and are also helpful for acne prone skin and oily skin

Cooler weather means it’s time to beef up face and body moisturizers. Skin may be dry and itchy all of a sudden...make sure you are using products that soothe. Moisturizers provide a protective barrier and retain moisture.

Fall is a great time to start with fresh skin. Considera a peel treatment which leads to brighter skin, and provides the opportunity to start over as the weather changes. Benefits of a peel include: Dissolves dead skin and build-up, reveals brighter, fresher, more radiant skin, smooths, softens, and refines skin texture.
